Ive seen a website where a guy has claimed to do an open water swim of 42km while towing a kayak, in 12 hours. Has anyone got experience of this kinda thing?

I wont publisise the website, but it took place in Ireland during the last day or two. And theres a google map of the swim.

Towing a kayak isnt hard it just floats behind you.

I reckon you can do 1km in 20 mins if you swim faster than me, based on 1/2 a minute a length, that would be 36km in 12 hours.

I guess its not impossible.

Recently? I assume he had wetsuit on. Or was very fat. I've been trying the length of Llyn Pryfed for years. The cold seizes me up.

It took place within the last 2-3 days. Theres a google map of the trail also.
I suppose the reason I am so curious is that one of the breadcrumbs on the trail is in the middle of a distinct headland.

but thats only 250m long! get a neoprene swim top and a swim cap, should be fine then.
I usually do about 1.5 miles in Llyn Tegid which is also fairly cold wearing that setup.
