My work is sending me out there later this year and I'm wondering if there are any local crags people can recommend?

I've never been so I can't recommend anything, but on this website you can type the name of a city and it will give you the 20 closest crags: http://climbingaway.fr/en/rock-climbing-areas/find-20-rock-climbing-areas-c...
I suggest you venture in to Auvergne when you have the opportunity, there's some fantastic crags there (you can find the topos for the départements of Cantal and Puy-de-Dôme in a shop called Au vieux campeur, have it delivered as the nearest one will probably be in Toulouse). The only place I've climbed at in Limousin is Bort-les-Orgues which was very nice, big 30m columns with routes from 4 to 6b I think. One of the columns collapsed a few weeks after we went though so I don't have if the area can still be accessed!!

Hope you'll enjoy your stay!

Bussy Varache is a pleasant crag in the woods. Sign posted off the main road and with its own car park
