Does anyone have a copy of the topo for Pontsbury? I know it exists but it has been out of print for ages and I cannot get hold of one anywhere.
If anyone has one that they could e-mail I would be dead grateful!

You can buy the guidebook from Amazon, but it's £40:

P.S. Word is that it's a tad scary - for why I'm not sure, loose rock or poor protection would be my guess. The guide says it's a good day out and can be combined with the Stiperstones. Some long routes at Pontesbury I seem to remember.

Not scary at all Andy. It's a lovely place, very peaceful as no road runs in the valley and it's in the middle of a nature reserve.

I'll second that. Lovely spot, great climbing. Did some of my first leads here, not bold or loose at all.

Lol - I was just paraphrasing what our in-house guru said when I suggested a trip there Easter Weekend. I wouldn't mind a visit myself some time. Come to think of it, what's wrong with this weekend?

Never trust an in house guru, they may be a troll in diguise

In this case, there is absolutely no disguise about it. He even goes to bed with his climbing helmet on, so they say.

Might be worth checking if the Peregrins are nesting there this year. But other than that it is a lovely little spot and now is probably the best time to go before the bracken comes up.
