I'm off to the torridon area for a few days next month, I was wondering if anyone could recommend me any 'classic' mountain routes. If it exists, I'm after the tower ridge/cneifion arête of the area. Liathach is already on my to do list, but I was hoping for something more like a long mod or diff to do too.

Thanks!

East and West Buttresses of Beinn Eighe fit that bill exactly. Also, get a copy of Highland Scrambles North which is a beautiful little book with lots of stuff in that kind of bracket.

I agree with East and West Buttresses of Beinn Eighe.

Cioch Nose (VD) would qualify, and despite appearances IS only VDiff.

Sword of Gideon (VS 4c) Is a VS (soft) but only has 1 pitch to worry about and is a real cracker

Assault Slab (VD)Is just luvverleeee despite not being a mountain route, easy to access if your in this part of Scotland dont drive past it.

The place is just rammed with quality little outcrops but the Long easy Mountain routes would be on Beinn Eighe.

Sword of Gideon felt more 5a to me, so wouldn't say soft at VS.

Will third the East Buttress suggestion.
