Aosta Cragging

Hi does anyone know which Guidebook we are now up to in Aosta Valley? and any recommendations for craging in the valley. We are commuting through it next month a few times and hoping to jump out for a few hours to break up journeys. ? cheers

The guidebook is Mani Nude 2 - unless there's a 3, now.

There's some great climbing in the Aosta Valley but there's also some real crap - no expense spared when it comes to manufacturing holds. It'd help to know what grades you're looking for. However, as a starter, Machaby, Lomasti, Arnad, Carogne and Gettaz are all good crags in the 5, 6 and 7 range.

Pilastro Lomasti is class, fantasticaly positioned and steeped in history. Well worth the walk

I heartily recommend Valgrisenche, which is absolutely swimming with worthwhile crags, and there's some multipitches up at the far end as well.
