If you mean how long a rope is needed, 40m should be plenty.

2 years ago we did just one ab below the solvay and even that some people were downclimbing. I agree that taking a 40 meter rope is a good idea. there are a lot of tactics to climbing the hornli efficiently and not taking too much rope is one of them. i think the guides sometimes take even less.
