I need to replace the rear hub on my Specialized Hardrock as the free hub bolt has stripped the threads on the hub body itself.
I have tried various spoke calculators to get my spoke length but seem to end up with different figures from each website.

It is a fairly old rim model Sun Mach IV (559x22) being laced onto a Shimano FH M475 (9 speed) and typically all the websites do not list my rim.

Has anyone else had this issue and how did you go about solving it?
I would like to build the wheel myself with a three cross pattern but may have to resort to letting LBS do it.

considering that the rim is fairly old and the cost of spokes (I'm assuming you already have the hub) unless you are keen to practice your wheel building skills you would do better just to buy a new wheel. You can get a basic deore 9 spd rear wheel for about £35 if you look around.

Thanks for that.

No worries, Sorry it wasn't really the answer you were wanting and seems quite wasteful, I didn't realy have time to put up a full reply at the time.

I have a shed full of old wheels for various bikes that could probably be fixed but it was cheaper to buy something new.

If you do ever want to play about with wheel building, as always, Sheldon brown has a lot of useful info about working out manually
http://sheldonbrown.com/spoke-length.html

And if you take all the measurements asked for in the above page you can miss out all the calculator work with the tool on the left side of the wheelpro page
