So I've started running a bit more and even force myself out in the rain too (and enjoy it)

With that in mind, I think I need to invest in a windproof.
So fasr, I've been looking at the Montane Featherlite Trail Jacket or he pull on

Any other recommendations?

Patagonia Houdini. Bit heavier than the Montane but a much better jacket IMHO.

I'd suggest that if you're just getting into it and need to keep the wind and a bit of rain out you don't need anything fancy. I've got a few bits and pieces but go out a lot in a €20 Kalenji windproof from Decathlon - and we get some serious wind and rain around these parts.

Spending big money on something thin and light only pays dividends when you need to carry it with you for long distances (like ultras) so I wouldn't worry about it right now.

Sportsshoes were doing the Innov8 half price recently - replaced the very similar Montane you linked for me, plus a useful dinky pocket.
