Hey Guys,

Never been to Trow Gill before. Was just wondering if anyone local to the area would be able to shed some light on whether it will be worth heading there saturday?, How the weather is shaping up and what it has been like weather wise this week?

Its either here or Trollers Gill, but would like to try somewhere new.

Thanks in advance.

Bump. Any info appreciated. Plus any classics around 7a-7b+ worth doing?

This is just a reply in the absence of better info as I haven't been yet this year. However my suspicion is that it will not be in the best condition as yet, particularly in the areas where the 7b and above routes are. The crag gets a bit dirty with a kind of powder lichen that can hold moisture. There are a couple of quality 7a's that get done more and are most likely to be clean...Clink and Distant Lands, and in the same area is Pimp with a Limp at 7a+. Good luck if you do go.

Weather wise it's been showery early in the week but fine and breezy which will help drying Trow Gill out. The north wall should be fine but the south wall could be damp and if not is likely to need a bit of light cleaning if they haven't had any traffic.
