Well I know that and I'm not a Londoner.

The other obvious one is the address of Apsley House, but that will be too easy.

What about naming the underground river the underground river that runs from Camden to the Thames.

All of them, no. Several will have Heathrow in the name!

And, while we're on the subject, which tube line connects with every other tube line at some point?
 Dave Garnett 21 May 2015
In reply to Oceanrower:

Don't all of them?!
 Ramblin dave 21 May 2015
In reply to Dave Garnett:

No - several don't connect with the Waterloo and City, for instance. Although the question no longer works since the East London Line became part of the overground rather than the tube.

I've had long arguments about whether there are two or three tube stations including all five vowels, but that's a decent question if you can shout down the dissenters.
In reply to goldmember:

So a group of Cockneys in the pub, so every question is going to be on the London Underground...lol

How about some rhyming slang questions? try this website for some good ones...could do a whole round on it

These are some pretty basic Mornington Crescent questions, albeit I guess the correct answer, in each case depending on how you analyse it, depends on whether Waterloo is in nid. You run the risk of being taken apart by Cockneys, who can take this sort of thing pretty seriously (post-Deptford Schism.)

(Cannon St)

What links the British Library, Clerkenwell Green and Highgate Cemetery?
(Communisim - where Marx worked, where Lenin worked - and may have met Stalin for the first time, and where Marx is buried).

What was unusual about the London Flood of 1814?
(It was a flood of beer in Tottenham Court Road. Don't laugh - eight people were killed after a brewery explosion - mostly drowned in cellars.)

When did London have it's first Indian restaurant, and it's first Indian MP?
(1810 - Sake Dean Mahomed established the Hindoostane Coffee House in George Street, central London. 1892 - Dadabhai Naoroji became MP for Finsbury Central.)

And since tube questions seem popular - which line has the most suicides?
(Northern line of course!)

To be fair, we get the BBC London news (despite not living there) and the news is primarily about transport and murder. We call it 'the stabbing news' but perhaps it should be 'the stabbing, buses, trains, taxis, bikes and airports news'

I'll answer my own question - The Oxo Tower, when built in the 1920s advertising was banned along the Thames so they built it with windows that just happened to spell out 'oxo', completely by accident of course.
