I've decided to take my niece camping this weekend and to show her what I usually waste my time doing.

Can anyone recommend any crags that have some real basic climbs that could be top-roped by such a small person?

Failing that perhaps scrambling up a descent would be exciting enough.

If she's three, something tiny, solid, and slabby will be required, I guess. I've seen very young kids having fun with their parents on short topropes on the larger slabby boulders (not ones that would normally ever be used for climbing as they'd be too easy) at Burbage South and Higgar Tor.

You could mix that up with a bit of weaseling maybe? Higgar's ideal for that. And then get her on the Rasp, obviously

A really good place is the Burbage Valley. Below Ash Tree wall and on some of the Southern valley boulders some of the backs are low angle and quite big and there is some excellemt short kids bouldering on pocketed slabs. Our website gives details and includes other ueseful venues like Stanage Apparent North, Higgar etc. Eg....
