Just bought a new kitten. Little grey and white dude.

Anyone got any creative climbing related cat name ideas?

Boy or girl?

If a girl "Nea" or "Hope".

If a boy, "Lazarus" or "Agag".

Or for either sex "Cioch" or "Integrity"

All mentioned in Classic Rock

Cloggy is a good name itself too.

You can't just give a pet a name. You need to keep it for a few weeks and a name will manifest.

But "Will Manifest" is a very strange name for a kitten, isn't it? Or is it just me who [whom?] thinks so?

I have a cat called Menlove Edwards, Meni, for short.

I always fancied having two girls and a boy so I could call them Coire, Meggy and Ben.

With regard to the OP a good test is imagine the vet coming and calling the pets name, we had a guinea pig called Pigman and I loved taking him to the vets just to hear them call out Pigman.

My mate has a black cat called "Cat". (He couldn't think of anything else)
She responds to her name and is a happy little soul.

I'd agree with that. I think all our pets have been known subsequently by their nicknames, rather than their 'given' names.

I really like Dyno, especially for a cat but the family are not having it... must work harder,

I also like Prussik, Oggy (from Ogwen) and the very non-climbing related Montecristo.

Historical Climber-OG, or alternatively Original Grey,Old Grey etc.

What about Cioch? But then you might feel a bit of a "fool"(sic) calling that outside.

If noisy, Bullroar?

Full name the Cat of Montecristo, no doubt...?

We had a cat that didn't have a name at all - it was variously called kitty, catten, kitty-kitty or other creative names for its entire life.

In reply to Bloodfire:

they're not at all climbing related but one of my cats was initially called Muriel, which then changed into Miaw-riel. (cos she's a cat).

We had a stray coming to visit us for a while which had one blue eye, and a brown eye. So we called him David Miowie

Yup. the winter nights fly by.
