Hi Guys,

Any recommendations for a good rock climbing guide for Snowdonia ?

The ground up guide gives a pretty good overview.

North Wales Rockfax is another good one. Covers lots of classics all over North Wales.

For inspirational writing the Paul Williams guide. It has probably been superseded by the Fockfax/Groundup offerings on photo-diagram quality though.

This is the larger Rockfax that covers the whole area - http://www.rockfax.com/climbing-guides/books/north-wales-climbs/

There is also a smaller pocket version which is mainly for the mountain routes - http://www.rockfax.com/climbing-guides/books/north-wales-classics-2010/

The books are published by Rockfax, which is part of UKClimbing, hence they help support the running of this web site.

I must admit the large Rockfax edges the GU as a selected guide (for me) and the small one is a great size to take on routes. I still read the Paul Williams for inspiration though. Since I climb in N.Wales a fair bit, I have all the definitive guides too and use them as a cross-check, as well as for routes/crags not in the selected guides.
