I had my old waterproof nicked, and need to get a new one in a hurry before I go on holiday on Friday. Given my office location and the fact I have essentially no free time before I leave my choice is limited to what I can pick up at snow & rock.
I haven't really budgeted for this so I would prefer to err on the inexpensive side. I realise this is incompatible with "snow + rock" but that's what I have to work with.
One of the jackets I have spotted that appears to tick the right boxes is the "Rab Spark", which seems significantly cheaper than a lot of the other options. I'm guessing part of this is that it uses "Pertex Shield" fabric, which is a bit of an unknown. Anyone know how good this is?
Other options I have been looking at are:
Mountain Hardware Torsun - heavier duty & toward the top of my price range, but could justify if it is good enough.
Rab Men's Mountain Dru - another heavy duty option. Not sure I'm keen on eVent given experiences of some of my friends though.
Haglofs LIM versa - greatly reduced.
Anyone used any of these, or have any particular advice on fabrics etc?
