UKC have loads of these 'answer the question win some kit' type competitions. So has anyone here ever actually won one?

Nope, could really do with a new Jottnar shell though. Would actually make a huge difference. Fingers crossed.

In reply to ACollins:

You have to be in the UKC "in crowd" to win, not just any old user!

We run a lot more competitions nowadays and they usually attract around 1500 to 2000 entries. This makes the odds of winning quite low if there is only a prize or three.

We always publish the names of the winners in each competition. You can check them by looking at the competition page here - http://www.ukclimbing.com/news/competitions.php - any comp with the title change to WINNER has the names included with it.

Once the comp finishes, we pass the prize handling over to the manufacturer/company/shop who was running the comp. They are usually pretty good at this but sometimes it can be a little slow, however we are happy to send a quick reminder on behalf of the prize winner.

Ah Ok thanks for the information. The competitions always seem to have really good prizes I was interested in how many people enter.

You think? I consider compared to other comps and other things I do, the odds are quite high, relatively speaking.
In reply to ACollins:

I won a pair of Red Chili Durango shoes, a t-shirt, and a chalk bag once, quite early on in me being a UKC member too.

A book once (signed by the author) and some free downloads of Rockfax Mini Guides. Now I write reviews regularly for UKC so get sent that gear to review, I don't enter competitions as it seems unfair, even if I'm not an employee of Rockfax/UKC.

But yeah, keep entering! Sounds like lots of people have had some swag over the years.

Yes, I won a whole afternoon's ice climbing tutorial from Tim Emmett and Neil Gresham.

Has to be my best competition win ever (of the few that I've won). They were very patient with an old bumbly.
