Quickdraw advice

How tight should the 'tight' karabiner in a quickdraw be? I have swapped the tight end karabiner on some of my quickdraws for nicer ones but these can barely move in the rubber holding. Is this ok?

Rope end karabiner should be tight, bolt/gear end loose.
