Apple devices are notoriously hard to repair, they want to discourage people from trying it. They use a lot of glue instead of or in addition to screws.
The site pneame linked is great. They have guides for every version of the ipad mini (the link is for original version, with the american version of 3G), if you start at
https://www.ifixit.com/Device/iPad you should be able to find the instructions for your exact device.
Also note that in most devices the 'screen' is in two parts, the LCD, which displays things, and the front panel/digitiser which sits just in front and includes the touch components. If the screen still shows images OK, then you probably only need to replace the front panel assembly, which is much cheaper.
If you haven't dismantled/repaired electronics much before, then modern Apple isn't the best place to start. I'm happy working on most laptops and android phones, but would probably send an ipad mini off to a repairer.
