A lot of bruising apparently but there was a worry she'd broken her femur. She's out of the race though.

In reply to Jim Hamilton:

Bit of both I suppose. I've always wondered about the wisdom of having a load of press & officials in the road just past the line. An accident waiting to happen & I've seen a fair few near misses.

That said, the riders know they're going to be there, so can't act surprised if they find themselves heading towards a bunch of people.

Effin' cyclists, think they own the road. Where was her bell?

Wouldn't happen if they had licences, etc. etc.

Looks to me like she totally f*cked up. But everyone seems to be skirting around that issue??

Regardless, hope she's ok
In reply to Chris Harris:
It does seem like there are too many people, spread too far across the road too close to the end of what will always be a print finish, and tradtionally a celebratory coast.

That said, she does seem to suddenly veer into him, but I wonder if her arms were knocked. Need a better view.

Will be a terrible shame if she or any of the others have to pull out.

In her interview she says a gust of wind caught her and pushed her to the left as she didn't have her hands on the bars. No excuse for the pillock on the finish line being in the way though.
Lizzie was being very kind blaming herself - she's a class act.

Boggy

Noticed at today's finish, photographers etc all safely behind barriers

In reply to Stig:

She is a class rider with a very high predigee and very few incidedents of ground baiting, so I will probably give her the benefit of the doubt!
