Cheddar Gorge South
Cheddar Gorge South (on the right as you look at the road going uphill) is now COMPLETELY closed to climbing from now until 1 September. It then partly reopens and fully reopens on 1 October. Please do not climb out of season! It is privately owned and climbing out of season jeopardises all climbing on the South side:

When the South side reopens you MUST have insurance e.g. through BMC membership. This is checked. Failure to have insurance really will also jeopardise access.
You can climb on the North side of Cheddar
Cheddar Gorge North (on the left as you look uphill) most places through the summer. As it is National Trust land you do not need insurance (e.g. that provided by BMC membership). I suspect that The Death Star F8c
The Death Star (8c) will keep almost anyone coming to Cheddar busy for the two months that the South side is fully closed...
