was anyone at the roaches today?
did mountain rescue have to get people stuck on the ledge below the sloth? because they got caught in the heavy rain shower

Buxton were called out but were then stood down without any involvement. Don't know any more details.

We just finished Hawkwing when the storm broke and saw a party on The Pedestal. Not sure what happened after that as we ran back to the car. Not sure why they wouldn't just be able to ab off if they needed to. Plenty of gear there. The storm passed in about 20 mins and the sun came out again so they'd probably have been able to finish the route before MR arrived.

It was pretty obvious a storm was coming. You could see it heading in over Stoke, so maybe setting off on a multi pitch route wasn't the smartest idea.

It's also been consistently forecast by the Met office to arrive at about 4pm for the past few days at least. No excuse for anyone to be caught by surprise.

Rescue from a single pitch crag because it's raining?

With a couple of strategically placed bouldering mats you could jump down from there.

If true, you have to wonder whether they've taken up the right sport

A top rope was lowered down to them, they finished up that.
