I am at home today and noticed that there were four young birds in the water bath that is the cover of the trampoline.
They may be young goldfinches but I have not seen them before.
They look similar to a sparrow at the front end with a light brown colour, but at the rear end they have black and white bars on the rump and black and yellow bars on the wings.
I will try looking them up when I get chance, but I thought that you ornithologists on here would be keen to help with the identification.

Sounds right to me. There are more young chaffinches about but they don't have the yellow on the wings.
