Wanting to do liongrat ridge from cervinia. We will be driving from chamonix to cervinia, just wondering if anyone has done this option before, where to park, camp, the timings for the walk in to carrel hut etc

Hi

I am planning this with my guide right now. We are looking at driving to Tasch from Chamonix early in the morning, then make our way over to Plan Maison by a series of cables and walks (looking into this detail now), then walk up to carrel hut for the night before attempting the summit and back down to Tasch.

We estimate:
Plan Maison to Carrel <6h
Carrel to Summit 5h
Summit to Solvay 2-3h
Solvay to Hornli 2-3h
Then take it from there after a rest and view back up the mountain!

Let me know how you get on with your research. Its good to have a sense check for this stuff.

Cheers,
Simon

The 'walk' to the Carrel hut is pretty much a walk in it's own right.

We drove from Courmeyeur (sp?) in the morning morning, parked at the big cable car station car park in Cervinina, caught the cable car up, sorry can't remember the name, which saved a bit of height gain and walked up from the there. Arrived mid afternoon to a rammed hut!!
