Title says it all really. Im looking for a new bike for off-road and trail centres. Got about £700 to spend. Any suggestions?

cant give an informed opinion, but the next couple of months should see some cracking 'end of year' deals, so look at bikes with RRP's a couple of hundred quid above your price point as well.

theres no such thing as 'the best' anything for any price.
All depends what suits you and your type of riding. This question comes up on biking forums every week and people will suggest x y z and then the person will usually go down to their local bike shop and try a couple out and buy one based on the one that feels best to them usually completely different from the suggestions on the forum.

Go Outdoors Were selling A calibre for under £400 was £600 in the sale
Good bike for the money picked up some decent reviews
And spend the extra money on some upgrades

I just got a Saracen Mantra Pro for £600 and it's bloody wonderful. Very responsive, pretty decent forks and brakes for the money. Upgrade a few bits and you'll be pretty happy.
