Had a slight twinge in my wrist that id been managing, which has just tweaked a bit and now hurts to do almost any task. Has anyone had any luck with a climbing physio that they'd recommend round the peak?

I live in Glossop and work in the peak, so could get to Sheffield pretty easily.

Also if anyone has had something similar to the following, please give me any feedback you've had: in the middle of the outside of my wrist i.e. where your watch face sits. Feels fine to pull on holds, but hurts to release. Also when pushing down, such as to lift yourself off a sofa. Hurts in the same place. Pretty much the opposite side to which is expect it to hurt. Very confusing indeed.

The wrist is very complex and could be a number of things, if it's in the middle could be the carpal tunnel, if it's the ulna side it could be your tfcc ligaments, that sounds likely from you pushing down to get out of a chair etc. as far as a physio goes there is The Clinic on abbeydale Road in Sheffield, they specialise in climbing injuries and would be a good place to start.

I can also recommend 919 Clinic on Abbeydale Road, they have successfully treated tendon problems in both my wrists and I am finally making good progress with a pronator strain in my elbow after a year of problems. On all occasions i have been impressed by their focus on self-administered rehab where possible as opposed to multiple (expensive) sessions.

Cheers, i'll check them out. Have thought it was tfcc for a while which i've been keeping an eye on. But now just hurts right in the middle, rather than on the outside in the ulna.

Try Tim Deakin at Sport-Med in Stockport, not far from you. He is a canoeist and climber who has been treating my Tennis Elbow problem, I have found him to be really good and recommend him.

Recommend contacting Laura Parker at Spire Manchester. She's a physio specializing in hand and wrist and was very helpful with my hand injury, they have experience dealing with professional athletes.

Andrew.

Global Therapies in Glossop have been sorting out my shoulder and knee. Tim's a runner / cyclist / ex climber.
