Anyone currently in or very recently (last couple of days) left the dolomites? We're currently climbing around Como, the forecasts for the dollies and Swiss alps indicating a probable wash-out. Forecasts not really improved but wondering if the it's possible to climb early and get back down before the storms kick in or if its rainy all day / too dodgy to go up a big route.

A long shot someone will see this but worth a shot. Cheers.

This is the most reliable site for weather:

It's the afternoon thunderstorms which are the perennial problem here. You have to plan to be off the route before around midday. Watching the clouds build as you climb higher and become more committed makes for nervy climbing for sure...
Tuesday's looking dodgy...Mon wed reduced risk...

Yes lots of rock routes in the sella area are roadside and can be done like this as they are only a couple of hundred meters long.

I think the forecast isn't looking too bad at all on the Dolomites site for the forecast period, maybe a bit better than average. It is after all the mountains and some chance of afternoon thunder storms is quite typical in the Alps you just need to plan around it.

This forecast is also worth using although I wasn't mega impressed with the accuracy especially more than a day ahead http://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/Sella-Towers/forecasts/2696
