Well, I lost my last one (left it behind!) so I've been looking for a replacement. However, this time I wanted something that would dig through the compacted stubborn highland ground. My last trowel was highly rated online but still often failed to make much of an impack in the ground. I did a lot of research (quiet period at work) and have bought myself something I didn't know existed, let alone wanted / needed. The best thing is its Japanese metal work and its got a serrated blade! It looks like a close quarters ninja stabbing weapon but is a hori-hori aka soil knife aka Japanese trowel.
Made for digging in the tough rocky mountainous soil of Japan, it should prove effective.
