Climbing Barn Opening, 144 kbLower Grange Farm Climbing Centre is based at Kent Scouts Activity Centre just off Junction 6 of the M20. The dedicated climbing facility opened in July 2014 and is growing steadily. The centre is owned and operated by Kent Scouts for the young people in Kent. We offer a range of activities and residential experiences to groups and schools from around the country.

We are looking for part time climbing instructors to join our experienced team to help deliver climbing to young people in Kent. The days we are looking for instructors are mainly on Wednesday and Friday afternoon and Evenings for NICAS and group bookings and on Saturdays for help with our open sessions and parties. Hours for the role are flexible, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, and would suit local instructors and students. You would report to the Centre Manager and would be responsible for delivering a variety of sessions for Scout and Youth Groups, NICAS, Coaching Development Squad, GCSE, Schools enrichment, Have a go session, and also birthday parties. Pay would be competitive and related to experience.

Qualifications/Experience

* SPA or CWA (or higher) but would consider people who have done their CWA training waiting assessment if their experience and log book are suitable.
*Route setting or knowledge of route setting would be desirable.
*Valid HSE recognised first aid qualification desirable.
*Coaching and Instructing experience in sport.
*You will also have excellent communication skills and be a team player.

Benefits

Instructors would be able to use the facilities free of charge when available. We can also offer further training and CPD opportunities including BMC FUNdamentals workshops and CWAA, CWLA and SPA to staff who wish.
