I'm trying to find a knot that ties two pieces of webbing in a cross (X) pattern with two entry tails and two exit tails that can take load on either or all of the tails independantly or together.
Thanks.

Just curious !
In reply to zimpara:

Is the webbing open ended or are you talking slings?

Re threaded overhand knot?

In reply to zimpara: It would be easy and secure, but not especially compact, to tie a pair of interlocked overhand loops. As with most knots, expect a 50% reduction in material strength.

Zeppelin bend.

In reply to Stuart (aka brt):

Open ended
In reply to zimpara:

As per Monkey Puzzle's suggestion or a Tape Knot.

A Carrick Bend would work nicely if all strands are loaded.

None of the knots mentioned so far, other than the ugly solution I suggested, is designed to be loaded along all of the six possible choices of pairs of ends, a subset of the loading configurations you require. I'd want to do some careful testing before employing any of the other suggestions.
