I went to replace my tablet / phone, I buy and then use PAYG. Vodafone wanted £400 plus £10 for top up plus £20 to unlock. O2 wanted £360 but would not unlock it until 1 year. John Lewis was £350 SIM free with extra 2nd year guarantee. Amazon is £350.
Do the mobile companies think we are all so stupid that we cannot Google to find better deal than the ones they offer?
Why discount something they don't want to sell in the first place? Mobile phone companies make their money off contracts, retailers are going to be more willing to drop the rrp to compete for handset sales.
