Approaching the due date. The other half is keen to get things moving.
Shes drinking raspberry leaf tea and eating pineapple like crazy, without much movement.
Does curry and getting the leg over work?
Any other suggestions for getting things to progress

I believe - ahem - that there is good reason to believe that sex does work.

All pointless. You need the midwife to do a "sweep".
But she probably won't do that until you're well overdue

Gettin the leg over definatly works.
5 hours later, my missus was in labour.

And good luck keeping up with your fantasy football. I lasted 3 weeks before I couldn't be arsed anymore

Good luck with no sleep, it's a bitch

Haha, that would be a little spicy on the lady parts. It might work. I decided to eat it instead.

Mrs Glyno is a midwife and suggests:

sex (preferably inc orgasm for both), as fem orgasm produces oxytocin and sperm contains prostaglandin which softens the cervix.
oh, and nipple stimulation (hers).

raspberry curry and pineapple tea are bollox, apparently.

Baby will come when it's ready! The best things to do in the meantime are walk as much as possible and spend time leaning forward (over a fitness ball is good) as that encourages baby into the right position (spine to front, not spine to spine).

Arrange to go and watch a football match in Carlisle tomorrow or if you are Lakes based, Plymouth. That should work and also give some merriment to all when the tannoy announcer calls for you to return home as your good lady has gone into labour. Unfortunately, there seem to be less tannoy announcements like that since the advent of mobile phones and world is worse off as a result.

A sneeze, a very very big sneeze.

Also everyone who's suggested curry 'gets things moving' is thinking of an entirely different orifice.

Why rush it out? It's probably happy and you're getting some short lived peace.

Why would anyone want to have sex with a pregnant woman at any stage. I must admit the free contraception for a few weeks is a novelty before they become big , and you realise that you are truly fecked forever
Welcome to the Fecked Club bud))

Take it you've just got the one kid, or your partner doesn't read UKC forums

2cc of oxytocin and a calving jack?

Tried all of them - turns out none of them work if baby is an undiagnosed breach!

Which caused a certain amount of fun in the delivery room...

Be patient and in the meantime, get as much fecking sleep as humanly possible. Seriously

Well a scheduled c-section would probably be the most obvious.....
Otherwise go shopping and buy a new item of maternity clothing. The more expensive the item the faster the baby will arrive afterwards. And if it doesn't work at least you have something new to wear, because by this stage you will be so fed up of wearing the same maternity clothes for about the last three months even a new t-short will be a good thing. Worked for me, bought a new top, baby arrived next day!
I realize this question is from a man, but you can pass on the advice.

yes it does work, but it's best not to wait until you're in the hospital on the due date to try this.

Evidence for this seems unsatisfactorily anecdotal. A proper scientific study needs to be done.

Wow, that must be the shortest pregnancy in history.
