Hi I'm looking for a Glacier training area (with some space for practicing Ice axe arrest if possible) in the Aosta valley. I was thinking up by the Thedulo Refuge is this suitable? Open to all recommendations.

Also what substitute for the guides office in chamonix is present in the Aosta valley for conditions information?

The Theodul pass is just about the worst place to try and do anything like that. Think flat grey ice. Of course there's a bit of fresh snow on it now... but it's still flat.
