Seems like a clear case of assault. I hope the police will devote time to identifying and prosecuting him.

No one should get away with assaulting someone else like this.

I'm afraid a bit of summary justice would have clouded my judgement.

"And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger" comes to mind.
