We seem to be doing reasonably well at the World Championships, but I am interesting in looking at in a bit more detail. I seem to remember seeing a system that assigned points for top eight finishes in events, I've had a quick google, but can't find anything. Anyone know what it's called?

and look at the placing table, instead of the medal table.

Thanks, it's not the placing I'm looking for, that is easy enough to find. It's the actual point system applied and comparisons with other WCs and Olympics.

If you view the full placing table, there's a drop-down menu which allows comparisons with other World Championships.

Points allocations are:
8 pts for 1st
7 pts for 2nd
6 pts for 3rd
and so on to
1 pt for 8th.
