Hi all

Just arrived in Chamonix. Thinking of grabbing the best out of the settled weather over the next 2 days. Anyone have any knowledge of the conditions of the traverse out to MidiPlan and back?

Thanks for any current info!

Check with OHM either on line or in person.

Thanks for that, will do. Just wondered if anyone on here had been up there recently?

Was up on Thursday, I know it was done by at least one group. Cosmiques guardian suggested conditions we poor on Wednesday. That's the best source of info.

These folk seemed to think it was OK two days ago but it's not completely clear if they returned to the Midi or went down past the Requin. http://www.camptocamp.org/outings/669965/fr/aiguille-du-midi-traversee-midi...

If you do Midi > Plan > Midi it's worth noting that sections of it, particularly for the return, rapidly become a lot harder/more serious/precarious with dry-ish conditions - I'm thinking of the wide easy angled couloir leading up to the Rognon du Plan.

Thanks all. Think we will head for an alternative.
