Just arrived in Chamonix. Thinking of grabbing the best out of the settled weather over the next 2 days. Anyone have any knowledge of the conditions of the traverse out to MidiPlan and back?
Was up on Thursday, I know it was done by at least one group. Cosmiques guardian suggested conditions we poor on Wednesday. That's the best source of info.
If you do Midi > Plan > Midi it's worth noting that sections of it, particularly for the return, rapidly become a lot harder/more serious/precarious with dry-ish conditions - I'm thinking of the wide easy angled couloir leading up to the Rognon du Plan.
