Hi all. I will be in Cape Town in a week or so and would like to get some climbing in. Unfortunately I have no gear with me, not even shoes!
I understand City Rock is worth checking out. Though I was wondering whether anybody could offer advice for any local climbing guides or handy ways to meet local climbers.
Thanks for your help.
Jack.

City Rock in Obs is a good place to start and climb.co.za is a good site, but traffic is less heavy than on here so be patient. Doing a route on Table Mountain is a must, round Paarl and Montagu are nice and if you can get out to the Cederberg you're onto a real winner! Hope you get sorted, it's a fab area to climb.

Checkout the Mountain club of South Africa link below. I used them a few years ago and they were very helpful.

I'd recommend these guys http://www.capeclimb.co.za/mountain_guides.htm

A few years back I was in CT on business and managed to wangle a weekend there so arranged a days climbing with them. I had taken my own shoes and harness but no other gear. The guy who took me climbing was Richard and he was excellent.
