In Huddersfield next week & hoping to get out for a few days on whatever is dry - probably favoring the Peak / grit. Any advice as to the best guidebook for a mid-grade bumbly based there?
Many thanks!

Basically trad S to HVS grit or lime but pbly more grit. From the web I gather you're right - lots within a shortish distance. I'm just wondering if there is a guide (or 2) that covers the stuff in that range well. Or is it more a matter of buying the Eastern/Western grit guides first & supplementing for other areas if we venture further?
Also - is there a gear shop in Huddersfield itself for guides?
Many thanks for the help!

Over the Moors probably has more stuff local to Hudds than either Eastern or Western Grit

Over The Moors and Yorkshire Grit Volume 2 cover pretty much everything worth climbing around Huddersfield.

Many thanks - we'll start with those & no doubt end up with the whole collection!

kirkleesclimbing.co.uk has some good topos to crags only briefly mentioned in Yorkshire grit vol2. The crags vary in quality but Netherton edge is woryh a visit if you are local.
