The Black Carls on Beinn Eighe. What are they like to scramble? With an overnight backpack?
In reply to Flinticus:

Airy and a little bit loose but fairly short-lived and no more than grade 1. One or two spots might be a wee bit awkward to downclimb with a heavy pack but I doubt they'll give you too much trouble if you're confident on that sort of ground.

In reply to Flinticus:

Pretty straightforward. The quartzite can be a bit slippy in the wet.

In reply to skog:

I'll add in that they are pretty loose but as the others say, very easy.

Great. Well, that's all I will say in case anything else gets the attention of the rain lords.

Short.

Short, loose, not particularly hard, but with a good setting and views. Take care with the holds as there's been more than one nasty tumble on them.

First time I tried them was in winter with heavy snow, on a middling day with clag. Confidently left the rope behind. At the difficulties there was a double cornice, and what looked like a snow mushroom looming in the mist, which might have been an optical illusion in the mist.....needless to say I ran away. Been back in both summer and winter since, and thought how the hell did they form.
