Hi there, I'm an international medical student looking to do a month (or possibly two) of exchange at a hospital in Portsmouth in the very near future (with the possibility of seeking employment in the year after). Any information on a local climbing centre would be greatly appreciated! I would also be grateful if some local climbers would be willing to have me tag along...for sport, trad or bouldering. However I will probably not have any significant amount of gear to contribute other than some quickdraws. I am very experienced and won't cause trouble. I've climbed in England several times before and I am really looking forward to going back!
Cheers!
Fan

Edit: for an indoor wall I'm mostly looking for info on a good boulder wall.

Red spider, being built in Fareham may be of interest for indoor bouldering

Quite limited climbing opportunities near Portsmouth, you're better off cycling the downs or sailing!

Fort Purbrook (very small but in an interesting room - an munition magazine), about 2miles from QA hospital.

Calshot, about 45mins by car.

Assume you've looked up http://www.ukclimbing.com/listings/?t=wall#main

Might be worth you checking out Southampton Climbing Club too, you're always welcome to join us if you're looking for partners, indoors or out.
