Totally agree. Not just the climbers and the period, but as I commented on one of them a real feel for trad climbing without stitching, enhancing or what have you. Sure,the author knew how and where to take the picture, but there is a real feeling for what he was doing which shines through nearly all these photos.

Interesting to see the most are tying in directly around the waist which I remember doing when I started in 1973. Many of the climbers are wearing EB's/PA's in 1958, do you know when they were first introduced to the UK?

I still have a pair of red and black PAs, which my Dad must have bought in about 1966 I guess. I remember him enthusing about these new rock slippers. They are still perfectly usable.
