Think there is an autoclose once a thread hits a certain size.

That's new?
At 468 seems an arbitrary and unlikely number

The auto-archive works on the size of the file, not on the number of posts.

Would a copy and paste of War and Peace result in a one post archived thread

There is a post size limit as well.

Hope one of the UKC guys will be along with an explanation shortly. I hope it wasn't manually archived.

It's clearly because the UK government didn't like seeing the issue being discussed on ukc and leant on them to remove it.

Or the thread had reached its size limit, as explained not very far up there ^.

So in theory you could filibuster a thread by spouting pages of nonsense? Whatever happened to Niggle......

There have been much, much, longer threads on UKC. And popular threads are often seen as 'click bait' to keep a site active and so supported by UKC (are you there MIck Ryan .

So I to am interested on the closure of that thread

Definitely to stop you being subversive at the request of MI6. Certainly not an automatic archive based on size.

"They" have identified your location and launched the drone. The thread is no longer required for this purpose.

I'll just have to keep moving, then

Definitely start running. The original thread has disappeared. And my attempt to start a Part 2 has also gone!
