A slur? He's just being blunt, like any good Yorkshireman.

I suspect he'll survive this. He's said worse about the Queen ( http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/sep/23/david-cameron-queen-purred-... ) and that didn't seem to do his career any harm.

And speaking as a Yorkshireman, my fellow Yorkshire-folk are indeed all tw*ts.

He is a man who has spent extended periods of time with Eric Pickles and William Hague. Not wonder he has a low opinion of Yorkshire folk.

As a Lancastrian, it's a rare occasion I will agree with him.

He is still an arsehole though!

Ha ha at both. A brother called him a charlatan before he first got into power, which turned out to be accurate I guess given his slip up over which football team he supported (along with his broken NHS promise and other things).

The football thing was very indicative of just what a loathsome fud the man is, this "yorkshiregate" thing really is a complete non-story though.
