Not sure I agree with his premise. those who are unhappy with the Tories would surely migrate to Lab. JC might make it easier for them to broaden their appeal.

Makes no odds as I see it, it's Osborne's turn next term , as none of the Labour candidates were likely to be seen as prime ministerial material anyway By the time Osborne has had his term Labour might have a decent candidate. ( maybe someone who missed out on his chance)
