Following the success of last year’s inaugural 60-venue tour, leading film maker Alastair Lee presents the 2015 Brit Rock Film Tour – homegrown adventure comes to the big screen. Launching across the UK in October 2015, the tour hits Caernarfon on Saturday October 17th with a screening at Beacon Climbing Centre.

Focused this year on Alastair’s native subject matter – mountains – Brit Rock features three stunning films including the highly anticipated ‘Citadel’ – Alastair Lee’s new release for 2015 and the world’s first mountaineering documentary shot entirely in 4k.

Wild Atlantic.
A charming and inspirational montage by Belfast based climbing photographer Craig Hiller. Features exploratory action of many wild first ascents and adventures on Ireland’s extraordinary west coast including the incredible Holy Jesus wall.

Operation Moffat.
New from Jen Randal, Operation Moffat takes inspiration and wit from the colourful climbing life of Britain’s first female mountain guide, Gwen Moffat. Grappling with her preference for mountains over people, adventure over security, wilderness over tick lists, writer Claire Carter climbs, runs, scrambles and swims her way through Gwen’s most cherished British landscapes. Including candid interviews with 91 year old Gwen, previously unseen archive material and unashamedly real action sequences, this film captures Gwen’s infectious excitement for a life constantly seeking something strange or beautiful around the next bend.

The Citadel.
Dubbed ‘The Mountain God’, the Citadel is a stunning 3000m peak in one of the remaining untouched corners of the Great Alaskan Range: The Neacola Mountains which due to their typically poor conditions and remote location are largely unexplored. The Citadel is beautiful but deadly, plagued by bad weather and prone to avalanche.

Matt Helliker and Jon Bracey are one the UK’s most formidable partnerships in alpine climbing with many world class ascents to their names from the UK to the Alps and the greater ranges. Their objective is to make the first ascent of the extraordinary 1200m long north-west ridge.
