John Peel, E2,5b in the electric quarry at Stoney is now clean and dry, so a good time to give it a go.

In reply to Martin Haworth:

Did John Peel this summer and the top half was in a pretty loose state. Is it much the same?
It felt pretty gripping up there, and I definitely shed some holds

Did you do it this afternoon? One orange helmet and one blue? If so I walked passed with my kids. It looked a really good route, a shame the foreground of that quarry isn't more attractive.

In reply to Martin Haworth:

Great route and good one for giving it a clean... Thanks.
In reply to TobyA:
Yes, that was us on it today.
It is a very good route, sustained and feels hard for the grade. It has some loose rock particularly in the top section.

In reply to Martin Haworth:

A bit of history on this routes name, it was named by F/A Jack Street who was seconded on the first ascent by John Ibbotson who fell off while seconding it.

nice one, good that some people are still giving worthwhile climbs a spruce up..

In reply to Al Evans:

Nice story, but it would have been better if the leader had done it in 45 minutes and the second in 33

In reply to Al Evans:

Which, coincidentley, is how the route of the same name in Dovedale was named (by 'trog' Williams with John Amis doing the peeling).
