Was up Beinn Narnain yesterday and took the chance of a high dry day to climb a 35-40m buttress just left of the path near the summit.
Not sure if this is Spearhead Ridge or something else, but too obvious to be unrecorded in an area where climbs of 10m and 12m are in the book. Was V diff max. Anyone know?

You looking at the SMC Arran, Arrochar, and the Southern Highlands book? It seems like Spearhead Ridge would be fairly obvious (the most extensive crag, 30m from the top where the summit plateau meets the SE ridge)
In reply to mishabruml:

Yeah Spearhead appears to be right of the path according to OS and GR from guide... Hopefully someone who's done it will be along ...

Old photo from the district guide here.

In reply to Colin Moody:
Thanks Colin. That was not the buttress we climbed.
Anyone got any other suggestions? We started up a crack and then another steeper, with one relatively difficult move, then moved right to a small pinnacle and back left on ledges to the top. Behind the top of the buttresss was a deep cleft ,so we were on a pinnacle of sorts, which needed to be stepped across. It brought us out right next to a cairn which marks the SE-most part of the summit plateua, a few hundred metres from the summit and a few metres below it.

OK, but, there is a deep cleft roughly in the middle of the photo that you have to step over.

In reply to Mike C:

Hmm the cleft position would put us climbing round to the right, on the face out of sight, taking this even further from the GR and map location, and and I think we would have been aware of the arrowhead to the left. If you've been can you remember you accessed it? We went up the main path from the old tramway up the ridge and it was right in front of us, the path then skirting it on the right.
Shoulda said Spearhead.

That sounds about right, though first time I went there we came from above, over the summit to the top of the crag, then down a slightly scrambly gulley on its left (looking out), iirc this was the path down anyway.
