Got up at 6:30 this morning to make our morning cuppa. Looking out of the window I saw the waning crescent moon and, to the left, Venus brighter than I've ever seen it before. Apparently Venus' potential magnitude can be as bright as -4.5 - bright enough to cast shadows. I think it must have been pretty close to that this morning.
A lovely sight.
