Hello,

I'm thinking of climbing at Portland in the The Lost Valley area tomorrow, with the warning on the main Cheyne Wears I wanted to see if anyone had been there recently & what its stability was like?

Also what alternatives would people recommend at Portland with a good mix of grades, particularly at the lower ones?

The lost valley is fine. Apart from the Jurassic park style trees and bushes the routes are ok.

The cheyne cliff neddyfields would be a good other venue. Fairly secure with some brilliant routes. Same goes for godnor. If your looking for the west coast try the veranda, a very good lower grade venue.
