Hi all,

I'm off to Squamish next year for a couple of months, but all airlines seem to want to charge a fortune for taking a mat out there. Now moved onto possibly buying a mat out there and trying to sell it again before I leave....anyone done this? If so, where's best to buy/sell mats over there??

I'd check out Mountain Equipment Coop in Vancouver. I seem to remember a gear shop in Squamish but that was 15 years ago.

Flew with BA to both Vancouver and San fransico with a pad (2 on the return from Vancouver) without any issue. Just paid fora second bag when I flew to San fransico and had no issues as long as it's under the 23kg for both bags.

For buying in Squamish there is Valhalla pure close to the highway opposite McDonald's and there's a gear shop down the road from the big save on store. Alternatively pick one up from MEC in Vancouver along with anything else you need.

I hired one by the day. Not much use if you are there for a few months though.

- MEC in Vancouver or North Vancouver
- gear shop in squamish sells pads or daily hire.
