Some new research suggests advantages to training Strength and Endurance phases on alternated days rather than in the same session. The kind of aerobic exercise they're talking about may not be directly applicable to climbing ( other than Alpine or Scottish Winter ), still I thought it was interesting.

Thanks. Might be useful for us runners.

I'm at an age where I need the alternate day to recover anyway. I need to add strength to my endurance so it's clear to me to do alternate days rather than do strength session on the same workout.

Yeah, it seems the clear advantage is for those who are interested in their VO2 Max, which is mostly going to be endurance athletes, and probably alpinists. I'm not sure you can necessarily extrapolate this to the kind of aerobic drills used in sports climbing training.
