The spoke holes on my 10+ year old Hope sealed rear hub cracked through.

Called Hope but because of the age they said there's no point in sending it in for repair so the only option is to replace it.

Looking for recommendations for what I should replace it with - things I'm looking for out of this:

Compatible with an 8 speed Shimano cassette
Sealed for zero maintenance
No need for disk compatibility (will be fitted to my '97 Marin Indian Fire Trail which doesn't have disk mounts)

Any one have any suggestions what I should be looking at?

will you be rebuilding the wheel yourself?
if you somehow manage to get a hub with identical dimensions then thats an easy enough swap over, otherwise youll need new spokes aswell.
So question is, is it worth repairing or just get a new wheel?
There are plenty of choices of pre bulit wheels on somewhere like chainreactioncycles.com which would be my preference especially for an older standard spec bike.

Seem to be a few 2nd hand Hope hubs on Ebay. Probably wheels as well.

In reply to zebidee:

Ended up heading down to WheelCraft last weekend with the wheel - ironically he had a similarly aged Hope hub with two cracked spoke holes on the other side.

Anyway he's re-using the rim (perfectly fine) and doing me a new wheel with an appropriate Hope sealed hub.
